The purpose of the Prophecy Ministries Benevolence Fund is to provide financial aid to an individual or Family who is in need on an urgent basis. The Benevolence Fund may not be applicable for cases which need long-term financial support.
The church has the right to adjust or to disapprove an applicant’s request and may consider
providing assistance other than monetary help.
The Church prioritizes short term emergency assistance to ensure that an applicant has the basic necessities to survive such as food, housing, and in some cases medical assistance.
The preferred method of providing assistance for bills and rent is for us to pay for the applicant’s need directly to the business or service provider. Assistance may also be provided in the form of goods or services. The type of aid that is appropriate depends on the individual’s needs and available resources.
Basic Requirements
1. Active participant of Prophecy Ministries.
2. Need must be related to a short-term financial crisis (medical emergency, accidents, loss of job,
etc.)
Benevolence Process
1. Complete and submit the Benevolence Request Form.
2. A Pastor or Staff Member will contact an applicant regarding the request.
3. The Request will be submitted for approval (note: typically, this will happen during the weekly Team meeting but can happen faster if it is an emergency).
4. The Pastors will approve or deny the request, or ask for additional information if needed.
5. If approved, the applicant will be contacted by phone and th epayment will be distributed.
Our Position
It is our position, based upon the Scriptures, that personal and family resources are
used by Yahawah to prepare and test His servants as stewards and managers for Him.
Therefore when a financial crisis arises in an individual or family, we must dutifully
investigate the situation. It may not serve the best interest of the individual to rush to
their assistance with financial aid.
It may be possible that the financial situation is a way that Yah is working to redirect the
course of their life. When this is the case, we do not want to be working against what Yah is doing.
If the church provides an easy way out, by helping financially for example, it
may disrupt what Yah is doing to accomplish His will and would only then be a temporary fix.
Experience has shown that Yahawah uses time and pressure to change the course of our
lives. This sometimes is through financial pressure and changes.
However, some financial problems are different. They are usually the result of death,
illness, injury, or other crisis, which we refer to as a “crisis case”. Each situation must be
carefully and prayerfully considered to determine the root cause of the situation,
whether our benevolent assistance is warranted, and whether we are responding to the
Holy Spirit’s leading.
The applicant must be willing to take necessary steps to change their situation and be willing to participate in appropriate programs offered by or recommended by the church.
